A denture is a removable prosthetic device to replace a tooth or teeth, constructed out of acrylic or cobalt chrome. It is retained either by suction or by mechanical means. 

There is a new material called Valplast which is very strong, light and flexible. It can be made very thin, picking up the characteristics of the underlying tissues and eliminating the heavy, bulky feeling of the old style dentures.
